21 teams from Car Nicobar are competing with each other in the League-Cum-Knockout Football Tournament being organised by Nicobar Games and Sports Association. The tournament kicked off yesterday at Bishop John Richardson Stadium with the first match played between Sawai B and Perka.
Mr. Lionald Nicomed, Chief Captain, Tribal Council, Car Nicobar was the Chief Guest during the opening ceremony of the tournament.
A large population of Car Nicobar is very fond of football and such tournaments encourages the youth to take up sports as a career.
A large number of residents of Car Nicobar are also enjoying the matches as spectators. Many sports lovers of the Island are happy that such a tournament is being organised by Nicobar Games and Sports Association.
This is the first tournament being organised by NGSA after its registration.
