On 1st of June 2022, Deputy Commissioner, North and Middle Andaman tweeted regarding the inspection of the under-construction stretch of NH4 from Kalara Junction to Bamboo Tikrey. DC had informed that GM, NHIDCL has been directed to atleast make the road motorable in 15 days.

Deputy Commissioner, North and Middle Andaman today informed on Twitter that the road between Kalara Junction to Bamboo Tikrey has been made motorable by NHIDCL within 20 days.

The general public travelling through the ATR was facing a lot of difficulties because of the bad condition of the road between Kalara Junction and Bamboo Tikrey.
Private commercial vehicles were refusing to take passengers up to Diglipur and the demand for the ticket in State Transport Buses had increased. People were even not ready to drive their personal vehicles on the stretch from Kalara Junction to Bamboo Tikrey fearing accidents and damage to their vehicles.
