Nicobar Cyclists Felicitated for National and International Achievements

A grand felicitation programme was jointly organised by the Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP), Nicobar District, and SAI STC, Car Nicobar on Thursday at Priyadarshini Hall, Tamaloo Village, to honour cyclists from Nicobar District who have excelled at various National and International Championships.

The young cyclists have brought laurels to the district by clinching Gold, Silver and Bronze medals, placing Car Nicobar prominently on the sporting map of the country. Their dedication, discipline and consistent hard work were lauded during the ceremony.

Mr. Amit Kale, IAS, Deputy Commissioner, Nicobar District, graced the occasion as the chief guest. He felicitated the medal winners with appreciation certificates and presented cash incentives as a token of recognition and encouragement. Congratulating the athletes on their remarkable accomplishments, the Deputy Commissioner urged the youth to continue striving for excellence and assured sustained support from the District Administration for the promotion and development of sports in Nicobar.

The programme was attended by the Secretary of the Tribal Council, Village Captains, Heads of Departments and Heads of Offices under Car Nicobar, along with sports officials, coaches, parents and well-wishers. Their presence underscored the strong community backing for nurturing young sporting talent in the district.

The event concluded with a call to the youth of Nicobar to actively participate in sports and bring further laurels to the district and the nation.
