The Nicobar District Police has launched a series of community-driven events as part of the 73rd Police Raising Week, which is being observed from January 16th to January 22nd, 2025. The activities aim to strengthen public relations, promote physical wellness, and emphasize the significance of sportsmanship and public safety across the district.

On January 17th, 2025, several initiatives were conducted to foster greater community engagement. SP Nicobar, Mr. Sunny Gupta, IPS, interacted directly with the tribal communities in Mildera, Katchal, focusing on collective efforts to curb illicit liquor and ensuring timely redressal of grievances. In Car Nicobar, sessions at Kuchat Park were organised to raise awareness about cybercrime, encouraging vigilance among the public and youth participation in fitness activities. Meanwhile, Nancowry Police addressed concerns related to cyber fraud, POCSO awareness, and road safety, while Campbell Bay Police engaged with community leaders to discuss local development issues.

Sports played a significant role in promoting unity and camaraderie. On January 18th and 19th, volleyball matches and tournaments brought together people from various backgrounds. In Car Nicobar, a friendly volleyball match between the police and ITI students generated a lively and positive atmosphere. Katchal Police organized volleyball tournaments for both girls and boys from tribal villages, with Japan Tikery and E-Wall emerging victorious. In Nancowry, a inter-village Volleyball Tournament saw Team Chota Enaka take home the championship, further strengthening the bond between the police force and the community. At Campbell Bay, a thrilling match at Rajiv Nagar Basti concluded with Team Pilobhabi securing the win.

Promoting physical and mental wellness, peaceful Yoga sessions were conducted on January 18th in Car Nicobar and Campbell Bay. These sessions, led by trained instructors, focused on fitness, mindfulness, and stress management, benefiting both police personnel and community members alike.
