In a determined push to create drug-free islands, the Nicobar District Police commemorated the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking with a series of events aimed at raising awareness and encouraging community action against drug abuse and illicit trafficking.

On this significant day, all police personnel in the Nicobar District reaffirmed their commitment to combating drug abuse by taking an e-pledge. Highlighting the day’s activities, the Car Nicobar police staff performed a Nukad Natak at Kuchat Park, illustrating the devastating impact of drug use on individuals and society. Additionally, PS Campbell Bay organized a drawing competition for children and youth, centered on the theme of drug abuse, with enthusiastic participants receiving awards for their creative submissions.

To further engage the community, the district police orchestrated a variety of events, including a cycle rally, a volleyball match at PS Katchal, and specialized awareness programs at PS Nancowry and PS Teressa. A walkathon at PS Campbell Bay was also held to reinforce the harmful effects of drug abuse.

These initiatives by the Nicobar District Police showcase their unwavering dedication to creating a safer and healthier environment. By involving local youth and engaging the public through diverse events, the police aim to foster a collective effort to eradicate drug abuse and illicit trafficking from the region.

The general public is urged to report any drug-related activities in their area to the local police. The identity of informants will remain confidential, and actionable information will be rewarded. Nicobar District Police encourage vigilance and community support in eliminating this menace from society.
