In a swift and efficient operation, the police in Mayabunder successfully solved a night burglary case within three hours of it being reported. The incident, which took place at a shop in Mayabunder Bazaar, was brought to the attention of PS Mayabunder by the shop owner early on 6th June 2024 morning.
Under the leadership of Inspector P.K. Abdul Arif, SHO of PS Mayabunder, a special team was formed, comprising PCs Dilleshwar Rao, Sailen Pandey, M. Nasir, and Rajesh (IRBn). The team launched a comprehensive search operation, engaged informers, and gathered crucial intelligence to track down the perpetrators.
Their diligent efforts led to the identification of Saw Hteemothel, 19, son of Mr. Saw Ahdeeh and resident of Webi, Mayabunder, as the prime suspect. A Child in Conflict with Law (CCL) was also implicated in the theft. Acting swiftly, the team devised a strategic plan and successfully apprehended both the accused and the CCL.
During a thorough interrogation, the accused admitted to the crime, and the stolen cash was recovered from them, marking a significant success for the police team within just three hours of the case’s registration.
The police have commended the community for their cooperation and emphasised the importance of swift action and collaboration in ensuring justice. The recovered items and evidence will play a crucial role in the legal proceedings against the accused.
This entire operation was conducted under the vigilant supervision of Mr. Brij Mohan Meena, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur, and the overall direction of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District.
