Nikshay Shivir Organized at Karmatang under TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan

As part of the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the District TB Centre, Dr. R.P. Hospital, Mayabunder, organized a Nikshay Shivir at Ayushman Arogya Mandir, Karmatang, on 28th August 2025. The special outreach program focused on the vulnerable population of the remote area.

The medical team led by Dr. Christina Rossity, District TB Officer (DTO), North & Middle Andaman, conducted screening of participants. Awareness sessions on Tuberculosis were also held by NTEP health officials, stressing the importance of early detection, timely treatment, and preventive measures.

A total of 54 individuals were screened during the camp. Of them, 50 were found asymptomatic, while 4 were identified as symptomatic. To ensure further evaluation, 46 individuals were mobilized from Karmatang to Dr. R.P. Hospital, Mayabunder, through the STS bus facility for diagnostic investigations, including X-ray and sputum examination.

The Nikshay Shivir under the TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan was successfully conducted, contributing towards active case finding, enhancing awareness, and strengthening the collective effort to achieve a TB-free India. (Story Based on PR)
