As part of the ongoing TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the District TB Centre of Dr. R.P. Hospital, Mayabunder, conducted a Nikshay Shivir at Sub-Centre, Rampur, on 29th August 2025, with a special focus on the vulnerable population of the remote area.
The programme was held in the presence of the District TB Officer, N&M Andaman. During the camp, Mr. Madhava Rao, District Programme Coordinator (N&MA), conducted an awareness session on Tuberculosis and its symptoms, besides briefing participants on the Nikshay Poshan Yojana and Nikshay Mitra initiative. He also emphasized the importance of early detection, timely treatment, and preventive measures in combating the disease.
Following the awareness session, Dr. Christina Rossity, DTO, along with the medical team, carried out screening of the participants.
A total of 25 individuals attended the camp, of which 22 vulnerable persons, though found asymptomatic, were mobilized from Sub-Centre Rampur to Dr. R.P. Hospital, Mayabunder via the STS bus facility for further diagnostic evaluation, including X-ray and sputum examination. (Story Based on PR)
