Dr. Arvind Virmani, Member of NITI Aayog, met with Admiral D.K. Joshi, PVSM, AVSM, YSM, NM, VSM (Retd.), Lieutenant Governor of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Vice Chairman of the Island Development Agency (IDA), at Raj Niwas on 21st March 2025, during his visit to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands from March 21 to March 24, 2025.
With a series of mega projects underway across key sectors such as shipping, ports, greenfield airports, tourism, hospitality, and allied industries under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, the discussions focused on attracting big-ticket investments to boost the region’s growth.
Dr. Virmani and Admiral Joshi explored modalities to extend special financial incentives and introduce a favourable regulatory framework to ensure the timely and efficient execution of these projects.
The development highlights the ongoing efforts of the Government of India to accelerate economic growth and enhancing local livelihoods.
