In a significant step to empower the youth of the region, the N&MA District Police has introduced the “DISHA” initiative—a program designed to provide comprehensive career guidance to students, particularly focusing on opportunities in Civil Services and the Armed Forces.
The inaugural session of this initiative took place on September 9, 2024, at the SP Office Conference Hall, N&MA. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 33 students representing six schools across Kadamtala and Rangat, including GSSS Kadamtala, GSSS Rangat, GSSS Bakultala, PM SHRI GSSS Sabari Junction, PM SHRI GSSS Swadesh Nagar, and GSSS CFO Nallah.
During the session, Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, SP (D) N&MA, shared her expertise on building a successful career in the Civil Services. She provided a detailed, step-by-step guide for aspiring IAS and IPS officers, offering valuable tips on exam preparation, motivation, and navigating the challenges of the journey.
In addition to the focus on Civil Services, the session also shed light on career opportunities in the Armed Forces. Mr. Rinson Robinson, Deputy Commandant, Indian Coast Guard (ICG), Mayabunder, along with Mr. Dalbir Singh, ICG, Mayabunder, guided the students through the requirements and procedures for joining the Armed Forces as officers. They explained the various stages of the selection process and offered practical advice on how to excel in the examinations.
The session concluded with a vote of thanks from Inspector K. Joju of the SP (D) N&MA Office, who expressed his appreciation to the speakers and the students for their participation, bringing the insightful event to a close.
The “DISHA” initiative by the N&MA District Police is expected to play a pivotal role in guiding the youth of the district, equipping them with the knowledge and resources needed to pursue successful careers in Civil and Defence services. This initiative aims to open new pathways for the students, inspiring them to explore these prestigious career options with confidence and determination.
