In a bid to strengthen coastal security and foster stronger police-public relations, the North & Middle Andaman (N&MA) District Police recently organised a series of community engagement programs across various police stations in the district.

The initiative featured a range of energetic events including cycle and bike rallies, as well as friendly matches in badminton, volleyball, and football. These activities drew enthusiastic participation from local residents—particularly the youth—alongside police personnel, creating a spirited and inclusive environment.

The events aimed to raise awareness about the significance of coastal security and to encourage community involvement in safeguarding maritime borders. By facilitating informal interactions between law enforcement and the public, the initiative also sought to build trust and strengthen cooperation.

“The North & Middle Andaman District Police are committed to promoting community-oriented policing and ensuring the security of our coastline through inclusive and participatory efforts,” a police spokesperson said.

Authorities have also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any information related to crimes or illegal activities. Citizens can share tips anonymously by contacting the nearest police station or calling 100, 112, or 03192-273344. Informers’ identities will be kept confidential and may be eligible for rewards.
