In a noteworthy move to enhance road safety awareness among young minds, the North & Middle Andaman (N&MA) District Police has introduced the “Traffic Gyan” Abhiyan at the newly inaugurated Children’s Traffic Park in Diglipur. This innovative program is designed to teach students essential traffic rules and road safety practices through engaging and interactive activities.

The initiative is aimed at providing students with a hands-on learning experience about road safety. The park, which mirrors real-life traffic scenarios, allows children to participate in mock driving and cycling exercises. These activities are intended to create a fun yet educational environment where students can grasp important safety lessons.

One of the highlights of the program is the park’s mascot, “Traffic Buddy,” a Chotta Bheem-faced traffic policeman who adds a playful and relatable element to the learning process. This character helps make traffic education more exciting for children, ensuring that the lessons leave a lasting impression.

As part of the initial phase of the program, 30 eager students from PM SHRI GSSS, Subash Gram, visited the park. The session was inaugurated by Mr. Ankesh Yadav, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur, under the guidance of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, SP(D) N&MA. Mr. Yadav engaged the students in a lively signal game, introducing them to traffic signals in a fun and interactive manner.

The “Traffic Gyan” Abhiyan is envisioned as a long-term initiative aimed at fostering responsible future citizens who prioritize road safety. By instilling these values at an early age, the program aspires to contribute to the development of a safer community for all.
