NTPC Organises State-Level Painting Competition on Energy Conservation in A&N Islands

NTPC, on behalf of the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, organized a State Level Painting Competition on the theme of ‘Energy Conservation.’ The initiative aligns with Mission LiFE, which promotes sustainable living practices and responsible consumption, offering students an opportunity to showcase their creativity while raising awareness about energy conservation.  

The competition began at the school level, with participation from Class V to X students across two categories: Group A (Class V-VII) and Group B (Class VIII-X). Over 4,330 students from across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands took part in the initial phase. From these, the top 50 students in each group advanced to the State Level Painting Competition held at Marine Community Hall, Mohanpura, on November 16.  

The prize distribution ceremony was graced by Mr. Vikram Singh, Director (Education), as the chief guest, along with Ms. Deepa Nair, Executive Engineer (NRSE), and Mr. CH Kiran Kumar, Nodal Officer and Senior Manager (NTPC).  

Winners of Group A (Class V-VII):

– First Prize: Saanvee Kaligithi (St. Mary’s School, Bathubasti)  

– Second Prize: Aleena Hassan (Khalsa Public Senior Secondary School)  

– Third Prize: Pragya Biswas (Navy Children School)  

Winners of Group B (Class VIII-X):  

– First Prize: Arpita Bepari (Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Lamba Line)  

– Second Prize: Bidisha Maiti (Navy Children School)  

– Third Prize: Shreya Sasmal (Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya)  

The winners of the first, second, and third positions in each group were awarded cash prizes of ₹50,000, ₹30,000, and ₹20,000, respectively. Additionally, consolation prizes of ₹7,500 were distributed to 20 participants.  

The first, second, and third prize winners of the State Level Competition will now represent the Andaman and Nicobar Islands at the National Level Painting Competition, scheduled to be held in Delhi on December 11, 2024.
