Oath-Taking Ceremony for the 3rd Batch of Head Constables from Lower School Course at PTS Held

In a poignant display of commitment and unwavering dedication, the Police Training School in Prothrapur hosted the oath-taking ceremony for the 3rd batch of Lower School Course Head Constables of Andaman & Nicobar Police on December 16, 2023. The event marked the culmination of intensive training that equipped these personnel with the skills and expertise necessary for effective community service.

Administered by Ms. Varsha Sharma, IPS, Principal of PTS, the solemn “oath of service” was the focal point of the ceremony, emphasising the responsibilities shouldered by these Head Constables.

The presence of Mr. Sanjay Kumar Tyagi, IPS, DIGP (Training), as the chief guest added significance to the occasion. Congratulating the Head Constables on their successful completion of the rigorous two-month training, he commended their dedication. Ms. Varsha Sharma, IPS, also lauded their achievements and urged them to commit themselves to serving the people of Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

The ceremony signified the end of an extensive training period, during which these individuals underwent comprehensive modules covering various facets of law enforcement and public service. Guided by experienced trainers and mentors, they displayed exceptional discipline, resilience, and a profound commitment to upholding the values of integrity, professionalism, and community service – the core principles of policing.

A highlight of the event was the recognition of outstanding performers. Among the 27 Head Constables, HC/937 Sumit Kumar Nag claimed the All-Round Best 1st Position and Best in Indoor 1st Position, while HC/629 Mohan Yadav secured the All Round Best 2nd Position and Best in Indoor 2nd Position. HC/1835 Kurma Rao shone as the Best in Outdoor, and HC/331 V. Nohove was honoured as the Best Shooter. Chief Guest Mr. Tyagi presented Commendation Certificates and cash rewards to these achievers.

The ceremony drew senior officers and proud family members, celebrating the remarkable achievements and milestones of these Head Constables. It stood as a testament to their relentless hard work and determination in embracing the responsibilities entrusted to them in safeguarding and serving the community.
