Office of Returning Officer Initiates Preparations & Commissioning of EVMs in A & N Islands Parliamentary Constituency

As the General Election-2024 draws nearer for the singular Parliamentary Seat of the A & N Islands Parliamentary constituency, the Office of the Returning Officer, ANIPC, has commenced the crucial task of preparing and commissioning Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) slated for use on the polling day of April 19, 2024.

The commissioning process for the EVMs has kicked off at the Central Warehouse situated behind ITF Ground under strict security measures. Representatives from various political parties, along with agents of contesting candidates, remain present at the venue to witness the proceedings. Engineers from the Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL) have been deployed to oversee the smooth commissioning of the machines.

The entire process of preparing and commissioning the EVMs is being meticulously recorded on video and is under the vigilant scrutiny of Election Observers, as well as the Returning Officer. It is anticipated that the comprehensive activity will be concluded within a span of two days.

The commencement of the preparation and commissioning of EVMs signifies a significant milestone in the lead-up to the General Election-2024, underscoring the meticulous planning and execution by the electoral authorities in ensuring a fair and transparent electoral process in the A & N Islands Parliamentary constituency.
