Official Logo of Zilla Parishad (South Andaman) Unveiled in a Grand Ceremony

In a significant event marked by enthusiasm and pride, the official logo of Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, was formally unveiled by Mr. Keshav Chandra, IAS, Chief Secretary of the Andaman and Nicobar (A&N) Administration. The unveiling took place in the presence of Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Adhyaksh (Chairperson) of Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, Mr. Boominathan, Up-Adhyaksh (Vice-Chairperson) of Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, Ms. Smitha R, IAS, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, Pramukhs of Prothrapur & Ferrargunj, Zilla Parishad members, and officials and staff of Zilla Parishad, South Andaman. The ceremony was held in the conference hall of the Zilla Parishad Bhawan on September 22, 2023.

Addressing the gathering during his welcome speech, Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Adhyaksh of Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, expressed his gratitude to Chief Secretary Mr. Keshav Chandra for taking the time to unveil the official logo. He underscored his commitment to promoting the inclusive welfare and development of rural areas with the ultimate goal of improving the social and economic conditions of rural residents and making them self-reliant.

In his address, Chief Secretary Mr. Keshav Chandra congratulated the Zilla Parishad on the official logo launch and emphasised that a logo transcends visual representation; it stands as a powerful symbol communicating the essence and identity of an organisation. He pointed out that the logo symbolises various developmental activities, including community buildings, roads, bridges, culverts, wells, and small irrigation ponds. He also commended the Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, for its dedicated efforts in education and other developmental activities. Additionally, he praised Mr. Sanjay Kumar Singh, Adhyaksh of Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, for his tireless field inspections, ensuring the timely completion of projects and the provision of basic amenities.

During the ceremony, Chief Secretary Mr. Keshav Chandra presented mementoes to Mr. Jag Jeevan Ram, an Official of the A&N Administration, and Miss Tanya Singh, an Application Development Analyst at Accenture, for their contributions to the logo design and video clip preparation, respectively.

Ms. Smitha R, IAS, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad, South Andaman, expressed her gratitude to Chief Secretary Mr. Keshav Chandra for his presence at the official logo launch. The event concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, marking a momentous occasion in the history of Zilla Parishad, South Andaman.

The official logo represents a significant step forward for the organisation, encapsulating its mission and commitment to the welfare and development of rural communities in the South Andaman region.
