In a swift action, the Aberdeen Police have arrested a man for stealing domestic LPG cylinders from a residence in Babu Lane, Aberdeen Bazaar. Two others have also been booked for purchasing the stolen cylinders.
The case came to light on February 11, 2025, when a resident of Babu Lane, Sri Vijaya Puram, reported the theft of two domestic LPG cylinders from his house. Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case and assigned the investigation to PSI Bharat of Aberdeen Police Station.
A special team, comprising PSI Bharat (Investigating Officer), Head Constable Sunil Singh Yadav, and Police Constables P. Mohammed Rafique, Surender Singh Yadav, and K. Jagdish Babu, was formed to track down the accused. Their diligent efforts led to the identification of Bishal Singh, son of Late Raj Kumar Singh, a resident of near JNRM College, Sri Vijay Puram. During interrogation, Bishal Singh confessed to the crime, following which the stolen LPG cylinders were recovered.
Based on his statement, the police also booked two individuals—Sarvanan, son of Karuppiha, a resident of Anarkali, and Aman Dharewa, son of Kamal Dharewa, a resident of Shadipur—for purchasing the stolen goods. The arrested accused was presented before the Hon’ble Court and subsequently remanded to judicial custody.
