National Science Day is celebrated every year in India on the 28th February to mark the discovery of the Raman effect by the Indian physicist Sir C. V. Raman on 28 February 1928. Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman was honoured with many awards and he was also awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930. Government of India designated 28th February as the National Science Day in 1986. Various programmes are organised across the country on National Science Day. The Department of Science and Technology, A & N Administration also celebrates National Science Day every year and organises various programmes to mark the occasion.
As part of the celebration this year, the Department of Science & Technology, A & N Administration is organising a Painting competition for College Level students on the theme ‘Global Science for Global Wellbeing’ in online mode. The size of the drawing sheet should be 36 cm X 56 cm.
Students may send their paintings on WhatsApp number 9474213985 latest by 24th February 2023. Only one entry per student will be considered for the competition. The participants may write their name, College Name, Department Name and Contact Numbers at the bottom right side of the Painting. Winners will be awarded certificates and prizes.
