As part of the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, the Directorate of Sports organized an ‘Open Cycle Rally for Men & Women’ on November 1, 2025, starting from Netaji Stadium.
Eminent sportsperson of the Islands, Ms. Deborah Herold — International Cyclist and Assistant Sub-Inspector, A&N Police — graced the occasion as the chief guest and flagged off the rally.
A total of 50 participants, including students from schools and colleges, members of various organizations, and cycling enthusiasts from the general public, took part in the 12-kilometre rally that commenced from Netaji Stadium, proceeded up to Chatham Chowk, and returned to the starting point.
Through such initiatives, the Directorate of Sports continues to promote a healthy and drug-free lifestyle while fostering community participation in sports across the Islands.
