The One Stop Centre (OSC), operating under the Directorate of Social Welfare, organized an online awareness session on Cyber Security Threats and Cyber Laws to enhance understanding of common cyber threats and legal protections.

Mr. Sanjay Henry, Assistant Sub-Inspector from the CID Branch, served as the resource person for the session. He emphasized the growing sophistication of cyberattacks and the importance of cybersecurity awareness. “Many cyber incidents occur due to a lack of awareness,” he noted, while explaining key preventive measures and provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

The session also included a briefing by Ms. Rukhsar Rahim, Para Legal Personnel at the OSC, who spoke on the newly introduced Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), highlighting its relevance in addressing emerging legal challenges.

The session began with a welcome address by Ms. Neela Baidya, Central Administrator of the OSC, while Ms. Meenal Rajan, Case Worker, outlined the objectives of the One Stop Centre. She highlighted that OSCs offer integrated support and assistance to women facing violence in both private and public spaces.

The session was part of OSC’s ongoing efforts to empower citizens, especially women, through awareness and legal literacy, a press release from the Directorate of Social Welfare stated.
