The Department of Science & Technology, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, will organise a painting competition for college-level students as part of the upcoming National Science Day celebrations.
National Science Day is observed across India every year on February 28 to commemorate the discovery of the Raman Effect by eminent Indian physicist Sir C.V. Raman in 1928. The day is celebrated to promote scientific awareness, encourage innovation, and highlight the importance of science in everyday life.
In connection with the celebrations, the painting competition will be held on February 25 at the Science & Technology Bhawan, Dollygunj. The theme for this year’s competition is ‘Science for a Sustainable Future’, aiming to inspire students to creatively express ideas on how scientific advancements can contribute to environmental protection, climate resilience, renewable energy, and sustainable development.
The competition is expected to witness participation from students of various colleges across the islands.
Interested students can register their names with Mr. P. Senthil Kumar, Artist, Department of Science & Technology, on Mobile No. 9474213985. Students may also report directly at the venue on February 25 before 9 AM to participate.
Participants have been advised to bring their own drawing materials, while drawing sheets will be provided by the Department. Winners of the competition will be awarded certificates and prizes.
The Department has urged college students to actively take part in the event and make the National Science Day celebrations meaningful through their creative contributions.
