The largest National Assessment Survey in India, PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024, was successfully conducted across all sampled schools in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Organised by the National Assessment Centre (PARAKH), this extensive exercise aimed at evaluating the academic competencies of students in Grades 3, 6, and 9.
Covering all three districts of the islands, the survey reached 121 schools, involving 194 classes, 4376 students, and 633 teachers. Students were assessed in core subjects, including Language, Mathematics, Science, Social Science, and the interdisciplinary area of ‘The World Around Us.’ Additionally, teachers and schools participated in surveys to provide a holistic view of the educational ecosystem.
The data collected from this comprehensive survey will serve as a crucial resource for shaping future policies and reforms aimed at improving learning outcomes and teaching methodologies across the nation.
The successful execution of the survey in South Andaman was supported by students of DIET, in North and Middle Andaman by students of MGG College, and in Nicobar District by Class XI students. This collective effort was further bolstered by the active involvement of the Education Department, State Institute of Education, Samagra Shiksha, District Education Officers, school authorities, and dedicated teachers.
The smooth and efficient implementation of PARAKH Rashtriya Sarvekshan 2024 underscores the commitment of all stakeholders in advancing education standards in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
