Andaman and Nicobar Administration has ordered suspension of passenger helicopter services in Andaman and Nicobar Islands w.e.f 4th of May 2021 until further orders.
The order states that helicopter services shall be made available for emergency medical evacuation and other emergency purposes on request of the concerned Deputy Commissioner.
This decision has been taken keeping in view the sudden spike of COVID-19 cases in South Andaman District and to prevent further spread of the virus for the safety of the Islanders.
The order has been signed by Dr. V Candavelou, Commr.-cum-Secretary(CA).
