The Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs (DSYA), Andaman and Nicobar Administration has extended the last date for submission of applications for Past Champion Athletes to be engaged at Khelo India Centres across the Union Territory. Earlier notified on July 17, 2025 through the Administration’s portal andaman.gov.in and a press release in The Daily Telegrams, the deadline has now been extended to August 25, 2025 (till 5:00 PM) due to administrative reasons.
The engagement is purely contractual for a tenure of one year with a fixed monthly remuneration of ₹25,000. The initiative aims to strengthen grassroots sports development in the Islands by utilizing the expertise of former athletes in training and mentoring young sportspersons.
Vacancies have been announced in the following disciplines and centres:
– North & Middle Andaman:
– Archery – Vivekananda Stadium, Diglipur (01 post)
- Hockey – Forest Ground, Baratang (01 post)
– Nicobar District:
– Football – Football Ground, Mini Stadium, Campbell Bay (01 post)
- Volleyball – Indira Park Ground, Kamorta (01 post)
- Badminton – BJR Stadium, Car Nicobar (01 post)
– South Andaman:
- Athletics – Netaji Stadium, Sri Vijaya Puram (01 post)
Interested and eligible candidates may apply in the prescribed format (Annexure-A) available on the official website sports.andaman.gov.in and andaman.gov.in.
