PBMC Launches eNagarsewa Mobile App for Streamlined Municipal Services

In a significant stride towards urban digitisation, the Port Blair Municipal Council (PBMC) has introduced the eNagarsewa mobile app, aimed at simplifying municipal services. The inauguration ceremony was held under the esteemed presence of Mr. Keshav Chandra, IAS Chief Secretary of A & N Administration, alongside notable dignitaries including Mrs. S. Selvi, Chairperson of PBMC, Mr. Nikhil Kumar, IAS, Comm-Cum-Secretary, UD, Mr. A S P S Ravipraksh, IAS, Secretary, UD and Mr. Dilkhush Meena, IAS, Secretary, PBMC.

The event, attended by various senior officers from the Administration and PBMC, marked the official launch of the app designed to streamline municipal services and enhance citizen convenience.

During the ceremony, Mr. Dilkhush Meena, IAS Secretary PBMC, extended a warm welcome to the dignitaries and provided an insightful overview of the eNagarsewa mobile app’s features. He emphasized the app’s role in addressing the complexities citizens face while making payments for municipal taxes.

The eNagarsewa mobile app offers citizens a user-friendly platform for various tax payments, including property tax, water tax, conservancy payments, shop rent, and more. Mr. Chandra, in his remarks, commended PBMC’s commitment to comprehensive development and acknowledged the challenges citizens encounter in customary payment queues. The implementation of the eNagarsewa app is expected to mitigate these challenges, ensuring a seamless and efficient payment process for users.

Furthermore, as part of the DAY NULM initiative, several Self-Help Group (SHG) members were presented with Sewing Machine kits generously provided by the State Bank of India under their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activity. These kits aim to empower individuals and promote skill development within the community, aligning with the broader goal of community upliftment.
