Andaman and Nicobar Administration has announced that food-grains under the Public Distribution System (PDS) for January and February 2025 will be available for purchase in one go to all ration card holders across the Union Territory. Beneficiaries can collect the food-grains as per their entitlement for both months in a single distribution session in January 2025.
In addition, subsidised sugar will also be provided to all National Food Security Act (NFSA) beneficiaries, including Priority Household (PHH) and Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) households. The sugar will be distributed at 1 kg per card per month, covering the period from April 2024 to March 2025. The distribution price will be Rs. 30 per kg for PHH households and Rs. 15 per kg for AAY households, starting January 1, 2025.
Ration card holders have been informed that they can collect their food-grains for the months of January and February 2025 together between January 1 and February 28, 2025. Those who are unable to collect their rations in January will still have the option to do so in February 2025.
This consolidated distribution is intended to ensure that all beneficiaries have timely access to essential food supplies.
