The Hon’ble Prime Minister of India launched Vidyanjali 2.0, a school volunteer program, on September 7, 2021, during the inaugural Conclave of Shikshak Parv 2021. Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, Vidyanjali 2.0 aims to improve the quality of education in government and government-aided schools by engaging community members and volunteers. This initiative seeks to encourage individuals to contribute their skills, knowledge, and resources to schools across the country.
Vidyanjali 2.0 provides a platform for a diverse group of volunteers, including retired professionals, teachers, artists, alumni, NGOs, corporations, and other organisations. These volunteers can support schools by offering subject expertise, teaching vocational skills, mentoring students, or contributing assets such as teaching materials, sports equipment, or digital infrastructure. While material contributions are welcome, financial donations are not accepted.
By registering on the Vidyanjali 2.0 portal, volunteers can select schools of their choice and contribute to a range of activities. These include offering assistance in subjects like arts and crafts, yoga, sports, and career counselling. In addition, volunteers can sponsor school events, help develop infrastructure, and provide extracurricular materials and other resources crucial for the development of students.
With 323 schools already registered on the Vidyanjali 2.0 platform, the initiative is gaining momentum across India, including in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. Interested volunteers, NGOs, and corporate sectors are encouraged to register on the official website https://vidyanjali.education.gov.in to participate in this educational movement and help shape the future of students.
