The Hon’ble Prime Minister on 19h released the 21st installment of the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme, disbursing Rs 18,000 crore to more than nine crore farmers across the country from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.

Launched in February 2019, PM-KISAN is a Central Sector Scheme aimed at providing financial support to landholding farmers. Under the initiative, eligible farmers receive direct benefit transfers of Rs 6,000 annually, credited in three equal installments to their Aadhaar-linked bank accounts.

During the 21st installment, a total of 12,851 eligible farmers in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands will receive Rs 2.617 crore.

The Agriculture Department has reminded that eKYC, Aadhaar seeding with bank accounts, and land seeding have been made mandatory for all PM-KISAN beneficiaries by the Government of India. Eligible farmers who have not yet completed these formalities have been urged to do so at the earliest to ensure uninterrupted benefits.

Additionally, all left-out eligible farmers in the Islands who have not yet registered under the scheme are encouraged to enroll and avail themselves of PM-KISAN benefits.

For any queries related to new registration, land seeding, bank account seeding, or eKYC, beneficiaries may contact their respective Zonal Agriculture Offices or Field Extension Functionaries of the Agriculture Department.
