Mr. S. Krishna Chaitanya, Additional District Magistrate/Assistant Commissioner (HQ), North & Middle Andaman District, on Tuesday launched the Pre-Marital Communication Centre (PMCC) at the One Stop Centre in the district. The initiative aims to promote healthy relationships, strengthen family well-being and help prevent domestic violence among young couples.

The Pre-Marital Communication Centre is an initiative of the National Commission for Women and has been set up to provide guidance, counselling and support services to couples through a safe and accessible platform for pre-marital counselling.

The Centre will focus on enhancing communication skills, fostering mutual understanding, strengthening conflict resolution abilities and creating awareness about rights and responsibilities within marriage. Through professional counselling and interactive sessions, the PMCC seeks to help couples build a strong foundation for married life and reduce misunderstandings.

The initiative is also expected to reinforce efforts towards women’s safety, emotional support and social harmony within the community.

Services offered at the Centre include pre-marital counselling, relationship and communication guidance, family and legal awareness, emotional and psychological support, and referral services wherever required.

All services will be confidential, supportive and accessible to the public. The District Administration of North & Middle Andaman has encouraged young couples and individuals to avail themselves of the services to strengthen their relationships and contribute to a harmonious society.
