The Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) in the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands is being implemented in full swing, with the District Industries Centre and Khadi and Village Industries Board serving as the implementing agencies. Under the program’s guidelines, these agencies facilitate the application process by forwarding online applications to the chosen banks after thorough verification and scrutiny of the provided information and documents.
Upon receiving the applications, the respective banks undertake the crucial task of assessing creditworthiness and deciding on the loan sanction for eligible applicants. Once approved, the applicants are notified by the bank. However, in adherence to PMEGP guidelines, applicants are required to undergo prescribed Entrepreneurship Development Training (EDP) before the sanctioned loan can be disbursed.
In a recent advisory, all applicants who have received loan sanction letters from the concerned banks are urged to promptly undergo EDP training. This training is available both online or offline, ensuring flexibility and accessibility for all applicants. The completion of this training is vital to facilitate the banks in disbursing the sanctioned loans upon fulfilling the necessary formalities.
For further information and clarification regarding the PMEGP application process and EDP training requirements, interested individuals are encouraged to reach out to the District Industries Centre or KVIB located at Udyog Parisar, Middle Point. Alternatively, inquiries can be made via phone at 03192-232601.
