Beneficiaries who have recently availed loans under the Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) have been advised to contact their respective financing banks or sponsoring agencies — including the District Industries Centre (DIC), Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB), or Extension Offices of the Industries Department — for submission of subsidy claims under the scheme.

According to the Industries Department, several PMEGP subsidy claims submitted by financing banks to the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC), Kolkata, have been returned due to incomplete documentation or incorrect submissions. A considerable number of subsidy claims from previous years have also been sent back by KVIC with remarks for correction and resubmission.

To expedite the process and ensure timely resubmission of claims, PMEGP beneficiaries are urged to coordinate closely with their respective banks or sponsoring agencies. Beneficiaries have also been requested to extend full cooperation to facilitate early settlement of subsidy claims.

It has been clarified that after receipt of the subsidy from KVIC, the amount will be kept in a fixed deposit account until repayment of the loan, and will be adjusted after third-party physical verification and submission of the corresponding report.

For further information or assistance, beneficiaries may contact the District Industries Centre (Phone: 232601), Khadi and Village Industries Board (Phone: 233301), or the Extension Offices of the Industries Department. (Story Based on a PR Issued on 25th October 2025)
