Police Crackdown on Illicit Liquor Production in Kishorinagar and Surrounding Areas

In a proactive effort to combat the production and distribution of illicit liquor, a joint police team, consisting of personnel from OP Kishorinagar and PS Kalighat, conducted an extensive operation in the dense jungles of Talbagan and Paschimsagar regions. This operation resulted in a significant breakthrough as they uncovered and destroyed approximately 1000 litres of illicit liquor (lehan) concealed within the lush forest.

The dedicated team, led by ASI Buddhiswar Haldar, and comprising of HC V. Saji Kumar and PCs Sushil Sarkar, Irenious, and Balaji, left no stone unturned in their pursuit of curbing illegal liquor trade. The contraband was discovered in various containers, including plastic drums, buckets, and plastic jerrycans, underscoring the extent of the illicit operation. Swift action was taken to ensure that the confiscated liquor and associated utensils were destroyed on the spot.

This successful operation is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our law enforcement personnel to combat the production and distribution of illegal liquor in North and Middle Andaman. Such efforts not only disrupt the underground liquor trade but also play a vital role in upholding law and order in the region. The entire operation was conducted under the able leadership of SHO PS Kalighat, with vigilant supervision from Mr. Brij Mohan Meena, DANIPS, SDPO Diglipur, and the overall direction and supervision of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, N&M Andaman District.
