In a proactive effort to combat the production and distribution of illicit liquor, a joint police team, consisting of personnel from OP Kishorinagar and PS Kalighat, conducted an extensive operation in the dense jungles of Talbagan and Paschimsagar regions. This operation resulted in a significant breakthrough as they uncovered and destroyed approximately 1000 litres of illicit liquor (lehan) concealed within the lush forest.
The dedicated team, led by ASI Buddhiswar Haldar, and comprising of HC V. Saji Kumar and PCs Sushil Sarkar, Irenious, and Balaji, left no stone unturned in their pursuit of curbing illegal liquor trade. The contraband was discovered in various containers, including plastic drums, buckets, and plastic jerrycans, underscoring the extent of the illicit operation. Swift action was taken to ensure that the confiscated liquor and associated utensils were destroyed on the spot.
