Police Destroys 205 Litres of Lehan in Talbagan Forest of North and Middle Andaman

In a swift operation, the OP Kishori Nagar police recently seized 205 litres of Lehan (Fermented Wash Used to Produce Illicit Liquor) from Talbagan forest, Kishori Nagar, dealing a significant blow to illegal liquor manufacturing in the area.

Acting on a tip-off, a team led by Sub-Inspector Inderjit, with PCs Ripon Mistry, Hazrat Kumar, and Irenious, uncovered and confiscated 205 litres of lehan along with three jerry cans, a plastic bucket, an iron container, and an aluminium container. These items were discreetly concealed within the dense forest. Following the seizure, all confiscated materials were promptly destroyed.

The operation was conducted under the vigilant supervision of Mr. Ankesh Yadav, SDPO Diglipur, and Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District.

Authorities have urged the public to report any information regarding criminal or illegal activities to their nearest police station or via emergency numbers 100, 112, or 03192-273344. Informants’ identities will remain confidential and may be eligible for rewards.
