The Police Entertainment Team (PET) and Brass Band of the Andaman & Nicobar Police captivated audiences at the Andaman & Nicobar Book Fair–2026, blending patriotic performances with powerful social messages during the nine-day event held at ITF Ground from February 14 to 22.

The Book Fair, organised by the Department of Art & Culture, Andaman & Nicobar Administration, aimed to promote reading habits and literary engagement among people of all age groups. Adding a unique dimension to the celebrations, the Police Entertainment Team conducted a series of cultural and awareness programmes focusing on pressing social issues.

Through engaging skits, live musical performances, and interactive sessions, the team highlighted concerns such as road safety, drug abuse, alcohol abuse, and cybercrime. Emphasising responsible driving and strict adherence to traffic regulations, the performances underscored the importance of preventing road accidents and ensuring public safety.

The programmes also shed light on the health, social, and legal consequences of substance abuse, encouraging youth to adopt disciplined and healthy lifestyles. A special segment on cyber safety educated visitors about online fraud, digital scams, identity theft, and safe usage of social media platforms, reflecting the growing need for digital awareness in today’s connected world.

The initiative received an enthusiastic response from students, families, and other visitors at the fair. The participation of the Police Entertainment Team and Brass Band reinforced the Andaman & Nicobar Police’s commitment to community outreach, public awareness, and nation-building through creative and constructive engagement.
