On July 13, 2024, at approximately 8:45 AM, the Police Marine Force (PMF) Gemini team embarked on a routine sea patrol, only to be met with an urgent distress call from the in-charge at OP Kishorinagar. The call reported a critical medical emergency: a woman residing near the seashore at Sagar Plot, TaalBagan, was experiencing a high fever and sudden breathing issues, necessitating immediate medical assistance.
Without hesitation, the dedicated officers—PC(L) 1229 K Shoaib Ali, PC(G) 2760 Balaji, and PC 2796 K Hazarat Kumar—braved heavy rain and strong winds to reach the distressed woman. Despite the challenging weather conditions, their swift and decisive action led to the successful rescue of the woman, accompanied by a female attendant.
The officers navigated the rough seas, ensuring the safe transport of the patient to Dinghy Ghat Kishorinagar. An ambulance, pre-coordinated to meet the rescue team upon arrival, facilitated the woman’s immediate transfer to PHC Kishorinagar, where she received the necessary medical attention.
This rescue operation exemplifies the unwavering dedication and bravery of the Police Marine Force personnel. Their commitment to safeguarding the lives of islanders, regardless of the obstacles, underscores their core mission to serve and protect the community.
