Police Personnel Suffer Injuries While Preventing Congress Workers from Moving Past Barricades During Protest at Port Blair

Six Police personnel reportedly got injured while preventing the Congress workers from breaking barricading during the protest at Port Blair today. Reliable sources have informed Nicobar Times that one Police Personnel received three stitches, one was injured, whereas four others suffered minor injuries during the protest.

Nicobar Times also received an image confirming that a part of the little finger of a police staff got detached from his hand.

ANTCC had called for a protest today against unemployment and inflation. Congress had planned to protest in front of Raj Nivas but was stopped by the police. Heavy deployment of Police was seen in the area.

Congress workers broke the barricading in front of the Gandhi Bhavan and later marched towards the Gandhi Statue. Police had arranged heavy barricading near Tiranaga Park to prevent them from going further.

Congress workers tried very hard to go past the barricades placed near Tiranga Park but failed.
