In a major breakthrough for law enforcement, a critical tip-off received by the Rangat Police Station led to the discovery of a substantial illicit liquor production operation hidden deep within the dense jungle of Shyamkund, Bakultala. This successful operation is part of the continued crackdown on illegal liquor manufacturing, spearheaded by an elite team assembled under the leadership of Inspector R.K Mazumder, the Station House Officer (SHO) of PS Rangat.
The dedicated team, which included Police Constables Anil Yadav, Sonu Kumar Yadav, Sheetal Das, Ram Prakash Rao, and Constables Subol Bepari and William, acted swiftly to launch a coordinated raid deep within the Shyamkund forest.
Through unwavering determination and relentless pursuit, the law enforcement team successfully uncovered and confiscated significant illicit liquor production equipment. The haul included 21 tins and drums, containing approximately 450 litres of Lahan, alongside various utensils and wood supplies used for the preparation of illicit liquor. These items were found hidden at different locations within the jungle and were subsequently destroyed, dealing a significant blow to the illicit liquor manufacturing network.
The entire operation was conducted under the vigilant supervision of Mr. Vishesh Dhatterwal, DANIPS, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Rangat, with the overall direction and supervision of Ms. Niharika Bhatt, IPS, Superintendent of Police for the North & Middle Andaman District.
The proactive efforts of the police have earned praise from the local community. This successful operation marks another step forward in the ongoing battle against illicit liquor, bootlegging, and drug abuse in the region.
