Police Raid Uncovers Illicit Liquor in Car Nicobar

In a concerted effort to crack down on illicit activities, the police team of PS Car Nicobar executed an excise raid at Perka Village, Car Nicobar, on April 5, 2024. Led by SI J Ramakrishna, the team comprising ASI Jairaman, PC/730 Hiramani Minj, PC/828 Rahul Kr. Maurya, PC/20 Monika, CT/775 Finlayson, and PC(D)/2737 Prakash Rao conducted a thorough operation resulting in significant discoveries.

During the raid, law enforcement officials uncovered 200 litres of Lehan, a critical component in the production of illicit liquor, clandestinely concealed in plastic barrels. The illicit substance was promptly destroyed under photographic documentation to prevent its further use in unlawful activities.

Additionally, the police team confiscated an additional 3 litres of illicit liquor stored in a plastic jerrycan from Ms. Lucy, wife of Mr. Walter (58 years old) residing in Perka Village, Car Nicobar. Ms. Lucy was promptly apprehended, and a case under Excise Regulation was registered at PS Car Nicobar. The investigation into the matter is currently underway.

The ongoing drive spearheaded by Police Station Car Nicobar to combat illicit activities underscores a commitment to maintaining law and order within the community.
