Police Raising Week 2024 Celebrated with Enthusiasm Across Nicobar District

In honour of Police Raising Week 2024, the dedicated police personnel stationed across Nicobar District organised a series of engaging and community-centric programs on January 20.

At Police Station Teressa, officers and staff initiated a cleanliness drive as part of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. The participants fervently worked to clean and beautify the premises and surrounding areas. A yoga session was also organised for the staff, emphasising the importance of physical and mental well-being. To foster a sense of camaraderie, a movie screening session was facilitated by the Teressa Police Station, followed by a feast known as Bada Khana for the staff and their families.

In Campbell Bay, a unique program was conducted under the supervision of SDPO Campbell Bay along with Police Personnel. A gathering of 150 residents actively participated in the event, fostering open communication with police. This initiative aimed to strengthen the bond between law enforcement and the community.

Car Nicobar Police staff, under the leadership of SDPO Car Nicobar and overall guidance of SP Nicobar District, launched the “Children Police Dialogue” initiative. Students of GSS Malacca visited the Police station, gaining insights into policing work and building trust between the police and the younger generation. Additionally, a movie screening session and a Nukkad Natak (street play) on suicide and alcohol were organised to educate the general public about the harmful effects of alcohol abuse on health and society.

ASI Amit Kumar and PC/Binay Kumar Panday of PS Katchal took the initiative to organise awareness sessions among students of GSSS Kapanga on crucial subjects such as cybercrimes, POCSO law, drug abuse, and road safety regulations.

Furthering the outreach, students from GMS Kamota visited the Nancowrie Police Station, the aim was to raise awareness among the young generation and foster a friendly relationship.
