Police Seizes Illicit Ganja in Kadamtala, Arrests One

In a swift and decisive operation, the Kadamtala Police successfully uncovered an illegal drug sale, leading to the seizure of illicit Ganja and the arrest of a suspect. The operation was conducted under the direction of Mr. Rahul L. Nair, IPS, SDPO Rangat, following credible intelligence received by the authorities.

The operation was spearheaded by SI P.M. Krishna Kumar, SHO of PS Kadamtala, with a dedicated team that included Head Constables Sailen Halder, Pradeep Das, D. Bhattacharya (IRBn), and PC Benedikh Minj. Two independent witnesses were also present to ensure legal compliance and transparency during the operation.

Acting on a tip-off, the team was informed that a person traveling in a car with registration number AN01Q-3118 was in possession of a significant quantity of illicit Ganja. The police swiftly set up a Nakabandhi near Roy Garage in Kadamtala, where they waited for the suspect’s vehicle.

As the suspect’s car approached the location, the raiding team intercepted it and conducted a thorough search. The search led to the discovery of 91 grams of illicit Ganja in the possession of the car’s owner, identified as Kiran Mistry, a 37-year-old resident of Bhakta Road, Kadamtala. Following a rigorous interrogation, the accused confessed to his crime. He was subsequently served notice under Section 35(3) of the BNSS and a case was registered at PS Kadamtala under the NDPS Act.

The entire operation was conducted under the supervision of Mr. Rahul L. Nair, IPS, SDPO Rangat, and the overall direction of Ms. Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, Superintendent of Police, North & Middle Andaman District.

The police have urged the general public to share any credible information related to crime or illegal activities with their nearest police station.
