Police Station Pahargaon Seizes 24g of Methamphetamine, Arrests One Individual

In a significant crackdown on drug-related activities, the dedicated team at Police Station Pahargaon successfully apprehended one individual and seized 24 grams of methamphetamine on 21st July 2023. The operation was carried out under the purview of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act 1985, marking another milestone in the ongoing battle against drug abuse.

Acting on credible information provided by an informant, the police were alerted to the presence of methamphetamine in the possession of a person identified as Nisar. The drugs were reportedly kept in a vehicle, which was parked at a garage in the Birdline area, with the intention of being sold to consumers.

Responding promptly to the tip-off, a specialized team was assembled, comprising Sub-Inspector Manish Narayan, Police Constable (PC) Jagdish Babu (PC/930), PC S S Yadav (PC/175), and LPC Sini Raju (LPC/1279), all under the competent guidance of K M Priyanka, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer serving as the Station House Officer (SHO) of PS Pahargaon.

Under the supervision of Mr. Sunny Gupta, IPS, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of South Andaman, the raid was carried out at the aforementioned garage in Birdline. The operation proved to be a success, resulting in the arrest of the suspect identified as C.P. Abdul Nisar, aged 23, and the recovery of 24 grams of methamphetamine from his possession. The police adhered strictly to established protocols and procedures throughout the course of the operation.

Residents of the region are urged to assist law enforcement authorities by sharing any relevant information pertaining to criminal activities or illegal operations. Information can be reported to the police through the helpline numbers 112, 03192-232100, and 03192-236641. The identities of informants will be treated with utmost confidentiality.

The efforts of the police team at Pahargaon in curbing drug trafficking and illicit substance abuse have been commendable, contributing significantly to making the region a safer place for its residents. Further investigations into the matter are underway, and the suspect will face appropriate legal proceedings as per the law.
