In a swift and commendable operation, the Pahargaon Police team successfully located three missing children from Bathubasti within a mere two-hour window on December 14, 2023. The report of their disappearance was filed by Mrs. Tama Biswas, a resident of Bathubasti, concerning her 9-year-old child who had gone missing after visiting a neighbour’s house for playing.
Upon receiving the distress call, Inspector Rahul, the Station House Officer (SHO) of PS Pahargaon, promptly mobilised the team to investigate. Shockingly, during the inquiry, it was discovered that two additional children, aged 13 and 10, were also reported missing from the house.
An immediate task force was assembled to track down the minors, coordinating efforts across all police stations within Sub-division South Andaman and Bambooflat. A widespread search ensued, employing various tactics including circulating the children’s photographs and meticulously reviewing CCTV footage.
The breakthrough came within two hours when the missing children were located at Marina Park by the personnel of PS Aberdeen. Upon interaction, it was revealed that the children had visited park, lost their way home due to the late hour and stayed back at the park.
Inspector Mariam and the Pahargaon team provided counsel to the children in the presence of their relieved parents at PS Pahargaon. Subsequently, the minors were safely reunited with their families and escorted back to their residences.
The entire operation was conducted under the vigilant guidance of Mr. Sunny Gupta, IPS, SDPO South Andaman, operating under the overarching direction of Mr. Kalaivanan. R, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman District.
This successful mission stands as a testament to the swift and coordinated efforts of the Pahargaon Police, ensuring the safe return of the missing children to their homes, much to the relief of their families.
