The Port Management Board (PMB) on 25th November 2025, launched the Port Pravesh Management System, a fully digital platform designed to streamline the issuance of port entry passes and improve accessibility for port users. The system was formally inaugurated by the Chief Secretary of the Andaman & Nicobar Administration, Dr. Chandra Bhushan Kumar, IAS.

Until now, PMB had been issuing various categories of passes — including individual and vehicle permanent passes, government port entry passes, and temporary daily, weekly, and monthly permits — through manual procedures. The offline format often resulted in delays and inconvenience for users, prompting a long-standing demand for online services.

Developed in collaboration with SOVTECH, the new digital system aims to strengthen security, boost operational efficiency, and ensure smoother processing for stakeholders, contractors, visitors, and port personnel across all port entry points.

With the system now in place, applicants can submit forms, upload required documents, track application progress, and receive approvals digitally. Entry verification will be conducted via QR code scanning at port gates, significantly reducing waiting time and manual intervention while enhancing transparency in access management.

PMB stated that the launch reflects its commitment to leveraging technology to improve service delivery and foster a safer, more efficient operational environment. All port users and relevant stakeholders have been advised to begin using the online platform immediately.
