In a collaborative effort to promote nutritional awareness and inclusivity, the Block Project Office of Samagra Shiksha, in coordination with the Education Department, Medical Team, and ICDS Project, organized a POSHAN Pakhwada at the GMSSS Hall in Hutbay.

The event, held under the leadership of Mr. Prabhash Roy, Block Project Officer, and Ms. Nirmal Jaya Kodi, Headmistress, drew enthusiastic participation from around 50 students, including Children with Special Needs (CwSN), accompanied by their parents.

Mr. Prabhash Roy served as the chief guest for the occasion, while Ms. B. Albakka, Mukhiya Sevika of Little Andaman, and Ms. Elise Reupen, Lady Health Visitor, were present as guests of honour. The program centred on the importance of proper nutrition, emphasising the health benefits of essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, fats, and dietary fibre—particularly for growing children and CwSN.

In addition to raising awareness about holistic health and well-being, the event also promoted the values of inclusivity and community support. Key Resource Persons including PGT Mr. Shashanka Das, Primary School Teachers, Special Educators, BRP (CwSN), PSRT, ASHA workers, Anganwadi staff, and Coordinator Ms. Naw Jasleen, contributed significantly to the program’s success.

This initiative under Samagra Shiksha reflects the ongoing commitment of the Education Department and its allied partners toward fostering a healthier, more inclusive, and empowered society.
