As part of the nationwide ‘Fit India Week-2024’ initiative, the Sports Authority of India under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports organised a Poster Competition focusing on the themes ‘Fit India, Healthy India’ and ‘Sports for Tribals.’ The competition received an overwhelming response, with over a hundred entries submitted by students from schools across the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Participating schools included GDMS, GMSS Mayabunder, Carmel, MGIS, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalayas (JNVs), Navy Children School (NCS) etc. The posters showcased innovative ideas and artistic flair, promoting the significance of fitness and inclusivity in sports.
The winners were chosen based on the originality of their ideas. Attractive cash prizes will be awarded to the winners and dispatched to their respective schools by post.
The 1st Prize was awarded to R. Vihan Kumar, a Class IV student of St. Mary’s School, Mohanpura. The 2nd Prize was shared by Irfan of Class XII, Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Chouldari, and S. Maheshraaja of Class IX, Mahatma Gandhi International School. The 3rd Prize went to Adhishri Baul, a Class IV student from St. Mary’s School, Mohanpura.
The competition highlighted the creative potential of young minds while reinforcing the values of fitness and healthy living in the community.
