In order to carry out essential maintenance work, a planned power supply suspension has been announced for several areas in Port Blair on August 19, 2023. The interruption is set to occur between 7:00 AM and 1:00 PM and will affect various neighbourhoods and establishments in the region.
The scheduled power suspension is necessitated by the need to rectify a 33 KV VOR Tie underground power cable near Maharashtra Mandal. The maintenance work aims to ensure the continued reliability and efficiency of the power infrastructure in the area.
Areas that will experience the temporary power outage include Vidyut Bhawan, Electricity HQ Office, PBMC Auditorium, APWD CE Office, Secretariat, Court Complex, PAO, Raj Niwas, Gandhi Park, Shadipur, South Point, Mazar Pahad, Machi Line, RGT Road, Govt. Press, JNRM College, Rajasthan Mandir, ALHW Colony, Hawaghar Jn., Dudh Line, Nayagaon, Bargat Line GPRA Colony & Corbyn’s Jn, Junglighat, Vijay Baugh, Dairy Farm complete, BSNL Telephone Exchange, Prem Nagar, Goalghar, Carmel School area, KV-1 area & Murdakhari area, part of Gurudwara Lane, Bengali Club, Biggi Lane, Anthropological Museum, Middle Point, Link Road, VIP Road, Police Line, CPVVE) Complex, Lamba Line, Ranchi Tikery, School Line complete & part of Minnie Bay.
