Prakash Adhikari, Zilla Parishad Member from the Guptapara Constituency and State Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Andaman and Nicobar Islands, has been elected as the Adhyaksh of the Zilla Parishad South Andaman for the fourth year term.
Boominathan, Zilla Parishad Member from Beodnabad and also a BJP representative, has been elected as the Up-Adhyaksh.
In the previous term, Congress leaders M. Rajani and P.A. Sharfuddin held the posts of Adhyaksh and Up-Adhyaksh, respectively.
The Zilla Parishad South Andaman is a key institution in the Panchayati Raj structure of the Union Territory, and its leadership positions—Adhyaksh and Up-Adhyaksh—are regarded as politically significant roles in the local governance framework.
