Mr. Praveen Singh S/o Mr. Nishan Singh a resident of Dudh Line was recently bestowed with a Certificate of Appreciation by SP South Andaman for evacuating a victim of road accident from the spot to the nearest hospital instantly without sparing undue time. The kind act of Mr. Praveen Singh saved a life.
Mr. Kalaivanan R, IPS, Superintendent of Police, South Andaman presented the Certificate of Appreciation to Mr. Praveen Singh.
India has a law called the Good Samaritan law which allows a person, without expectation of payment or reward and without any duty of care or special relationship, voluntarily come forward to administer immediate assistance or emergency care to a person injured in an accident, or crash, or emergency medical condition. Good Samaritan Law protects Good Samaritans from harassment on the actions being taken by them to save the life of the road accident victims.
Any person present at the accident spot can help the injured victims and evacuate them to the nearest health care facility immediately without waiting for the emergency responders and they are protected by the Good Samaritan law from any harassment.
Mr. Abdul Rasheed (Ration Rasheed) also appreciated Mr. Praveen Singh for being a ‘Good Samaritan’.
