Hon’ble President of India, Smti. Droupadi Murmu, is set to embark on an official visit to the picturesque Andaman and Nicobar Islands from February 19 to 23, 2024.
Commencing her visit on February 19, President Murmu will commence her itinerary by paying respects at the Martyr’s Column and touring the revered Cellular Jail Complex and Museum. Additionally, she will be treated to the poignant light and sound show at the Cellular Jail. Later in the day, the President will grace the Dr BR Ambedkar Institute of Technology in Port Blair, where a civic reception awaits in her honour.
Continuing her journey on February 20, President Murmu will explore the southernmost tip of India, Indira Point, and the scenic Campbell Bay in Great Nicobar Island. She will also visit Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Island, paying homage to the island’s rich historical significance, and partake in the illuminating light and sound show.
February 21 will witness President Murmu engaging with the indigenous communities of Andaman and Nicobar Islands as she interacts with the members of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) at Raj Niwas, Port Blair. Subsequently, she will observe an operational demonstration by troops at Radhanagar Beach in Swaraj Dweep. (Source: PIB)
